Suggestions for May 2026
“In May, do as you please”. This hedonistic saying has inspired us to new suggestions from the chef, to make the most of spring at Les Deux Magots. On the menu from Thursday May 7.
Among the starters, we begin with a fine vegetarian tart that exudes sunshine with its eggplant, zucchini, peppers, onions and black olives. We continue with a symbol of spring produce on the market: delicate white asparagus with a lemon-herb emulsion. And we finish with their cousins, green asparagus, paired with an organic hard-boiled egg flavored with truffle and a lemony mayonnaise. Finally, let’s head for gourmet Italy with the last of the new dishes: rigatoni with tomato and stracciatella.
Among the dishes is a duo we love in every season: roast duck breast with savory and herbed grenailles potatoes. The Primavera veal blanquette lives up to its name with a seasonal garnish of green beans, snow peas, peas, carrots and broad beans. The return of fine weather also inspires us to take a trip to Provence for seafood: cod aïoli to awaken your taste buds, combined with melting vegetables to soften them; and monkfish, which we love with its low-temperature cooking, fine ratatouille and shellfish coulis.
If you’re craving freshness, let yourself be seduced by theDuo de la mer salad. It combines crunch, freshness and pep with sucrine, snow peas, broad beans, green beans, marinated Scottish salmon, marinated pink shrimp, grapefruit supremes and lemon emulsion.
If you’re tempted by a dessert, the suggestion of the moment has that little taste of caramelized childhood memories… we’re talking, of course, about Bourbon vanilla crème brûlée !
Spring also means the return of terraces, where you can enjoy a drink (in moderation) in good company. We suggest the very fresh Paloma Patron, which mixes a Patron Reposado tequila (5cl) with the tangy fizz of a Fever tree with pink grapefruit.
