Writer's Monday with Thomas Schlesser

BOOK PRESENTATION BY ALBIN MICHEL :

“The book the whole world is snapping up.” Le Figaro

“An ode to beauty and wisdom.” Le Parisien

Fifty-two weeks: that’s how long Mona has left to discover all the beauty of the world.

That’s how long her erudite and whimsical grandfather took to introduce her to a work of art every Wednesday after school , before she lost the use of her eyes, perhaps forever.

Together, they will tour the Louvre, Orsay and Beaubourg.

Together, they’ll marvel, be moved and question each other, caught up in the spectacle of a painting or sculpture. Through the eyes of Botticelli, Vermeer, Goya, Courbet, Claudel, Kahlo and Basquiat, Mona discovers the power of art and learns about gift, doubt, melancholy and revolt, a precious treasure that her grandfather wants to inscribe in her forever.

A great novel of initiation to art and life, the story of a sunny relationship between a little girl and her grandfather, Les Yeux de Mona has had a fabulous destiny: translated into over twenty countries even before its publication in France, it is an international phenomenon.

Shortlisted for the Grand Prix RTL-Lire Magazine Littéraire 2024.
