Writer's Monday with Thibault de Montaigu
Writer Thibault de Montaigu is on a roll, and we’ll be delighted to welcome him to our “Lundi des Ecrivains” literary event on Monday November 18 at 6:30pm.
He will present his new novel “Cœur” (published by Albin Michel), a family quest born under the fire of the First World War, in which panache rubs shoulders with pride, family secrets and the weight of the past.
This event is free of charge, and only available by reservation at evenementiel@lesdeuxmagots.fr (places are limited).
It will be hosted by Baptiste Liger, Editorial Director of Lire Magazine Littéraire.

Cœur is one of the books that has livened up the fall literary season, as evidenced by its inclusion in several prestigious lists:
- First selection – Prix Goncourt 2024
- First selection – Prix Goncourt des Lycéens 2024
- First selection – Prix Renaudot 2024
- First selection for the Prix Jean Giono 2024
BOOK PRESENTATION BY ALBIN MICHEL :
“I thought I was writing this story for my father, but it was the opposite: he had given it to me as a gift.. And every time I open these pages, I’ll find him again, as if I were holding his living heart in my hands.”
When his ailing father urged him to write about his ancestor Louis, a Hussar captain killed in a cavalry charge in 1914, Thibault de Montaigu didn’t yet know what family secret lay behind this heroic death. Nor why it resonates strangely with his own father’s destiny, which is declining by the day. His race against time to uncover the past turns into a deeply moving investigation involving Proustian characters and war widows, flamboyant lovers and neglected wives.
Thibault de Montaigu recounts a lineage haunted by glory and honor. But also what remains of love and courage hidden in the hearts of men.
PRESENTATION OF THIBAULT DE MONTAIGU BY ÉDITIONS ALBIN MICHEL :
