Les Deux Magots celebrates 140 years of art de vivre with a limited edition by Bernardaud

To celebrate our 140th anniversary, we have called on Bernardaud, the world leader in porcelain, to create a limited-edition piece: a porcelain tray decorated with references to our café and the Church of Saint-Germain-des-Prés. This exclusive creation embodies the French art of living, and celebrates the craftsmanship and timeless elegance that define our two houses.

This piece, produced in a limited edition of 100, is a continuation of Bernardaud’s TOUT PARIS collection. It is the fruit of meticulous craftsmanship, with every detail testifying to the excellence of the famous Limoges porcelain factory. With a “French-style” decor that celebrates the rich heritage and life of Paris, this tray pays further homage to the iconic institutions for which Paris is famous, highlighting Les Deux Magots on the beautiful Place Saint-Germain-des-Prés. Both decorative and utilitarian, this porcelain tray transcends use. Its sober, refined lines make it an ideal accessory to enhance the art of entertaining.

One of the great pleasures to be experienced at Les Deux Magots is also one of the simplest: that of sharing a moment over a good cup of coffee. The “L’instant Café” set lets you extend this precious ritual at home, with all the essential equipment.

The box contains two Les Deux Magots cups and saucers, a packet of Les Deux Magots filter coffee and 32 squares of chocolate.

The cups and saucers are made of white porcelain, with the sober, uncluttered lines so typical of French-style cafés. The emblem of our House, adorned with two statues, appears on the cups, as does the inscription “Les Deux Magots” on the saucers. The filter coffee in the box is the one we serve every day in our café-restaurant. It’s a Flor Fina ground coffee, a subtle blend of Arabica with a hint of Robusta, roasted in France. Its complex, balanced blend of several terroirs gives it an intense taste underlined by a pleasant finesse. As for the 32 chocolate squares, they’re that famous little concentrate of gourmandise without which a coffee isn’t quite a coffee! Their 70% dark chocolate from Ecuador, with roasted cocoa beans, offers a lovely balance between bitterness and toasted notes.
