The Deux Magots Literary Prize
Since 1933, the literary year has kicked off with the 'Deux Magots' prize, awarded in January. The jury, being itself diverse, makes its award to works that are equally diverse and different. The list of prize winners is a honour roll call and draws attention to distinguished writers such as Raymond Queneau in 1933 (“Le Chiendent”), Jean Luc Coatalem in 2002 (“Je suis dans les mers du Sud sur les traces de Gauguin”), Olivier Séchan, Antoine Blondin, Fernand Pouillon....

But, the 'Deux Magots' does not neglect other fields of artistic endeavour. The Pelleas Prize is awarded to a book on music, and the Saint Germain Prize, offered in partnership with La Brasserie Lipp and Sonia Rykiel, is awarded to an artist working in a different field such as architecture, cinema, theatre, art, fashion etc.
